Tell the agent what a file is before it opens it
An agent shouldn't have to read an entire file to learn whether it's worth reading. The context that decides that, what this is, what matters, how to use it, usually lives everywhere except the file itself.
File-Native AI Metadata is a standard for putting it back where it belongs: embedded directly inside the file, so an agent understands intent before it spends a single token on content.
The spec and examples are open source and live on the site. That's the best place to read it.
