Lapse
You speak, it remembers.
Thoughts vanish quicker than you'd expect
Most note apps assume you'll stop and organize your thoughts. Most of the time you won't, so ideas, journal entries, half-formed thoughts, they scatter and get forgotten. The stop is where it breaks: the gap between having the thought and opening the app is exactly where it vanishes.
Lapse removes that stop. You just talk, in a conversation you're already having.
A memory layer, not a diary
It started as "let the AI write my journal." It became something bigger: a store your assistants share. They write to it as you talk and read from it when you ask, by tag, by time, by connection. No command needed, no "log this" required. It just listens where you already are.
Four ways in
- Talk to your AI. In any connected client, mention something worth keeping and it writes the entry in your words, tagged and timestamped. It even decides journal entry versus to-do on its own.
- From your pocket. An iPhone Shortcut, or the Action Button, dictates straight in. No app to open.
- From the browser. Select text on any page, click the Lapse mark, it saves with its source. Right-click to pick or create a space.
- In the app. A clean web viewer to write, edit, and browse when you want to do it by hand.
Capturing is easy. Reading back is the hard part.
Most tools miss this part entirely. Lapse organizes as it goes, not after the fact.
- Spaces. Separate areas of your life, Journal, Career, Philosophy, or one view across all of them.
- Typed tags.
person:asha, mood:low, topic:cloudflare, colored, structured, queryable. - A graph. Your tags as a living network, so you can see what clusters, what connects, what's drifted apart.
- Live context. Any agent can pull the current state, or just the delta of everything that changed since it last looked, without guessing.
Cloudflare, MCP, and staying blind
Cloudflare Workers and D1, exposed as an MCP endpoint, so it works in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, opencode, Local LLM (ollama), or any MCP client. It works even with Apple Intelligence (on device intelligence, I use it). OAuth 2.1 for one-click connectors, bearer tokens for scripts and devices, magic-link sign-in so there's no password to leak.
The server stays blind on purpose. It stores and structures, your agents do the reading. Nothing shared, nothing sold.
Try lapse.in. Connect it once, then just keep talking.
Its still very early and shaping better everyday. Feedback genuinely welcome.
